You're trusting us with memories of your kids. We take that more seriously than anything else we do. Here's exactly what we collect, why, and what we will never do with it — in plain English.
What we collect
Your account information: name, email, and phone number. Your kids' first names and birthdates, which you provide so prompts fit their age. Your journal content: the texts you send us, photos and videos you share, and entries you create on the web. And the operational basics: messages sent and received, subscription status, and the settings you choose.
How we use it
One purpose: running your journal. Your kids' names and ages shape the daily prompts. Your replies become your entries. Your photos are stored and enhanced for you. We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it for anything other than the service you signed up for.
AI, and what it never does with your data
We use AI to write your daily prompts and organize your entries (Anthropic's Claude), and to enhance texted photos (Replicate). Your content is sent to these providers only to perform those tasks, under agreements that prohibit using it for anything else.
Your memories, your photos, and anything about your children are never used to train AI models — not by us, and not by our providers.
About your kids
The Little While is a service for parents. The information about your children comes from you, belongs to you, and is used only to personalize your journal. The service isn't directed at children and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Who we share with (and who we don't)
We use a small set of processors to operate: Twilio (text messages), Anthropic and OpenAI (AI features), Replicate (photo enhancement), Stripe (payments — we never see your card number), and our hosting and storage providers. Each receives only what it needs to do its job. Nobody else gets anything, ever, unless the law requires it.
Texting
You opted in to receive daily journal prompts by text during signup. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP anytime to stop all texts, HELP for help. We respect quiet hours and won't text you in the middle of the night.
Security & retention
Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and access is limited to what's needed to operate the service. We keep your journal for as long as you keep your account — even if your subscription lapses, your memories stay safe and readable.
Your rights: export and deletion
Download everything — entries, photos, messages — anytime from Settings, no questions asked. Delete your account from Settings and we permanently remove your account and all of your content. No retention tricks, no 30-day limbo on our side beyond standard backup cycles.
Changes & contact
